At Civmec, we continue to ensure we have an environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) peoples are valued and respected. Civmec’s intention is to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of ATSI peoples.
In November 2017, we launched our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) – outlining our commitment to making a difference through several key strategies, which has been ongoing since our establishment in 2009.
As we embark on our journey our priority is to develop stronger and more meaningful relationships and partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our vision will be underpinned by:
- Developing a better understanding of cross cultural sensitivities.
- Ensure that our employees understand and support the principles and agreed actions for our RAP.
- Enable our staff to develop relationships in their professional and personal spheres with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and the local and broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
- Recognise that our contribution to the community reflects shared values and delivers positive community solutions.
