Brookfield Multiplex Engineering and Infrastructure Pty Ltd has awarded Civmec the Perth Stadium Steelwork Package contract, which forms part of the construction of a major new sports stadium in Perth. The contract involves the fabrication and site erection of steelwork on the stadium.
The contract commences immediately and is expected to be completed in approximately 18 months.
“This award exemplifies Civmec’s position as a leading heavy engineering player offering a diverse range of services to the growing Australian public infrastructure sector,” said Civmec CEO, Pat Tallon.
“As a leading end-to-end solutions provider, we continue to pursue and tender for strategic projects in the public infrastructure space as part of enhancing long-term shareholder value.”
“The stadium contract is the latest in a series of projects where Civmec is taking a major role in the development of new infrastructure for Perth. Late last year we were awarded a major civil package as well as the fabrication of the arches for the large pedestrian access bridge for the Elizabeth Quay project which is transforming Perth’s waterfront. We also successfully tendered for the delivery of precast works for the Perth airport to city roads infrastructure package, known as the Gateway Project.”
Located on the Swan River, Perth Stadium will have seating for 60,000 people and is expected to be completed by late 2017 and will be the largest sporting arena and entertainment venue in Perth attracting national and international events to Western Australia.
“We are delighted to be working with a new client and take a role in this exciting project,” Tallon said.
