Civmec receives ‘New Enterprise Award’ at Subsea Energy Australia Business Awards 2014

Civmec Construction and Engineering was last week recognised for its outstanding achievements, winning the Subsea Energy Australia’s (SEA) New Enterprise Award.

Recognising Civmec’s achievements over the past 5 years, SEA commented, “Civmec provided a very impressive nomination for the New Enterprise category. Civmec’s development from inception in late 2009, public listing in 2012 to their current status which has seen an eighteen fold growth in revenue is very impressive. Civmec’s growth plans, health and safety commitment and community engagement made their nomination a unanimous choice for the judges.”

Subsea Energy Australia is a not-for-profit industry association aimed at championing the Australian subsea industry and promoting our capabilities to the wider regional and global markets. SEA is developed and run by industry for industry and acts on behalf of industry as a focal point for companies representing the entire subsea oil and gas supply chain from operators & large contractors through to suppliers, SME’s and universities.

The inaugural SEA Business Awards was held in Perth, Western Australia, on Friday 6th June 2014 recognises excellence in the subsea industry across a range of fields. Four eminent industry professionals judged the awards, together they represent key aspects of the subsea sector including academia, operations, contracting, commercial and government. The criteria for the New Enterprise Award included: commitment to HSE, technology and innovation, leadership, quality of strategic thinking and practice, commercial performance and evidence of the company being visionary.

Pat Tallon, Civmec’s CEO, accepted the award on behalf of the company. Tallon commented, “Civmec have achieved a significant amount since we commenced operations in 2009. It is encouraging for the industry to recognise the breadth and depth of expertise of Civmec’s diverse skills base.”
