Civmec worked in an integrated alliance with Seymour Whyte Constructions, WSP, and Main Roads WA on the project.
The full scope included architectural and engineering design; fabrication and transportation to site of approximately 2,000 tonnes of complex steel structures; ground preparation, earthworks and piling for approach embankments; in-river works, including piling, pile caps and pylon structures; and structural erection and electrical installation.
Installation of a digging stick pylon was undertaken in April 2024, utilising a 1,600-tonne crawler – one of the largest cranes in Australia.
The bridge was delivered on schedule, and was officially opened to the public in December 2024.
