Shanarlah Pickett, an apprentice boilermaker welder, was awarded the 2025 DeWALT Best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Construction Student.

Derek Guthrie, also an apprentice boilermaker welder, received the 2025 Weld Australia Boilermaker Welder Apprentice of the Year Award. Fellow apprentices William Sharp and Clifford Omboy were also named finalists in the same category, showcasing the depth of talent within Civmec’s training program.

Capping off the night, Civmec was awarded the 2025 DeWALT Construction Host Employer of the Year, recognising the company’s continued investment in developing skilled tradespeople and the strong support provided by its supervisors and management.
