To date, 240 cubic metres of concrete have been poured for the workshop footings, and heavy plant and equipment has been brought on site to commence works on crossovers and swales.
Once complete, the facility will serve as a centre of excellence for maintenance, providing specialised fabrication and maintenance services to support Civmec clients and regional mining operations. It will also create job and training opportunities for locals and bring more skilled workers into the town.
The facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2023.
Civmec was pleased to have the opportunity to show Mr Michel around our new construction site and, in doing so, share with him our ongoing commitment to the Port Hedland community and greater region.
