2013 saw Civmec awarded several contracts by Sedgman to provide integrated services on La Mancha Resources’ Mungari Gold Project. These included a civil contract for detailed earth works and concrete work, fabrication, construction and Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) installation.
The contracts were awarded in relation to the construction of a carbon in leach (CIL) processing plant. Located approximately 25km west of Kalgoorlie, the new 1.5Mtpa CIL plant was constructed to process a blend of ore from the Frog’s Leg and White Foil mines to produce a gold doré product.
Delivering over 3,000m3 of concrete and approximately 750 tonnes of steel for the project, Civmec’s scope included works on the following facilities:
- Plant Roads and Drains
- Process, Raw and Overflow Dams
- Primary Crushing
- Secondary and Tertiary Crushing
- Screening Station
- Conveyor Concrete
- Crushed Ore Bin
- Grinding Mill Station
- CIL Station
- Elution Area and Gold Room
- Services and Substations
- Infrastructure Buildings and LPG Storage Concrete
- Tanks, Conveyors, Chutes, Structural Steel and Piping
Trial assembly of the crushed ore bin was conducted in our heavy engineering facility in Henderson prior to transportation, ensuring assembly on site would occur efficiently.
From mobilisation through to project completion, Civmec maintained a safe working environment on site with zero Lost Time Injuries (LTIs).
