The bridge, which is located in WA’s Kimberley region and was previously damaged by storms, is a critical piece of infrastructure in the area, therefore requiring accelerated delivery of all scope requirements.
The design solution involved the use of innovative weathering steel material and modularising segments in order to facilitate the timely construction of the 268-metre-long bridge.
Civmec successfully navigated the material logistic challenges posed by the short timeframe and ‘just in time’ design changes.
We successfully evolved our fabrication processes to manage 1,200 tonnes of weathering grade steel, and delivered a high-quality bridge module on time. Through our contribution, FBA were able to expedite the delivery of this iconic project.
