This was followed with a contract for the supply, fabrication and installation of works at the JSE wet plant.
Our scope of works included foundations, slabs and equipment supports for the iron ore processing plant; all offsite fabrication and modularisation; and onsite structural, mechanical and piping assembly, including the wet plant, conveyor systems and major tie-ins to the existing plant.
In total, we delivered approximately 27,000 cubic metres of concrete; 6,500 tonnes of structural steel; 30 kilometres of fabricated piping; 15,000 square metres of grating; and 10,000 linear metres of handrail for the project.
Although the contract originally required modules to be fully stick built on site, our innovative knowledge and experience enabled the assembly of 94 modules off site. This removed more than 23,500 man hours from site and allowed additional work fronts to be utilised on site, thus facilitating a safer and more efficient project delivery.
